The LFB saw a 39%  increase of First Time Lethbridge Food Bank
Users in 2008.. a 10% client increase overall and a 14% increase in
children.

Alberta has the highest percentage of EMPLOYED food bank
recipients in Canada (37%)

Only 32% of all food banks in Canada are run by volunteers

It costs the LFB approximately $250,000 to operate annually

We receive just over $10,000 a year from the government (this
means about 95% of our funding comes from donations,
investments, bingo)

It has been 18 years since the federal government promised to
eliminate child poverty

73% of Canadians believe that hunger is a problem in our country.  
57% believe the Government should take responsibility for solving
this problem
